Pigskin Talk is managed by long-time sports writer and television journalist Kyle Garlett. Kyle first began working in sports in 1994 at KCBS in Los Angeles. He would later move on to Fox Sports Net during its founding in 1996, where he eventually became the network’s senior writer. As the chief script writer for shows like Totally Football, The NFL This Morning, and The Ultimate Fantasy Football Show, Kyle worked alongside NFL Hall of Famers like Warren Moon, Marv Levy, and Jackie Slater.
Since leaving Fox, Kyle has written four books, penned numerous features for magazines and websites, and during a five-year professional stint in the United Kingdom he became the lead broadcast voice for the most successful American football team in Great Britain, the London Blitz. Kyle was also the voice for the British American Football National Team during its run through the European Championships, making him one of the only play-by-play commentators to call a football game in five different countries.
Kyle is also an unapologetic fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and a big advocate for organ and tissue donation. He is a multiple cancer survivor and heart transplant recipient and in 2009 he was the first heart transplant recipient to ever compete at the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii. Kyle also competed at Kona in 2010 and still finds it painful to acknowledge that his beloved Chiefs lost both of his weekends in Hawaii. Probably because his focus was somewhere else.
